Rainbows Against Racists

Letter to the Editor (Re: Spartan Daily article http://www.sjsunews.com/spartan_daily/article_d1b13616-95d0-11e6-8f6f-cf1d43899a70.html):

Dear Ms. Pirayou,
Re: "White Nationalist Group Recruits SJSU Students"

In today’s tense and political environment, it is more important than ever to define ourselves as ethical citizens of our school, our state, and our country.

SJSU is a place of diversity and inclusion and it's appalling to hear about Identity Evropa being on our campus.

This presence of this white nationalist group is unacceptable.

The U.S. has a long history of racial violence and segregation, and we students, as representatives of our country, acknowledge the atrocities committed, and pledge not to see them recreated.

As the world becomes more connected, we become more in touch with people of different skin colors, histories, backgrounds, cultures and more.

Let’s demonstrate to this hateful group that we are a campus of love and tolerance by wearing rainbow to represent diversity and by engaging in peaceful discourse.

Mystery Character

Animate eyebrows raised, he gesticulates, open palmed.

Sitting next to him is his loyal, forgiving wife.

Her eyes are a startlingly light blue.

His, brown.

He sits at this table time and time again, telling stories and exposing frauds in front of the camera.

Recently, the couple moved from New York City to L.A. because they got tired of having a tiny apartment.

This makes sense, as their job entails using a lot of equipment in their own living room.

Though, it doesn’t make sense, since rent in L.A. is famously high.

Their living room is filled with umbrellas and lights, though you can’t often see them.

On the back wall is a lifelike painting of the man in question, with a long red beanie resting, folded on his head and he with an intentional double chin.

His hair has gone prematurely gray at 31.

The people most familiar with this character sometimes joke that he is a god or that he is “Papa” of Papa John’s, the pizzeria.

Before living in New York, the couple lived in Israel, which is where they met.

Specifically, they met at the Holocaust Museum.

He has Tourette’s Syndrome, which manifests in his facial movements.

For instance, his eyebrows are overly expressive and he coughs often.

His typical dialogue focuses on pranksters or YouTube sensations.

These dialogues last 12 minutes or so.
He has a beard, mustache and a very likable personality.

He worked in marketing in Israel after studying English Literature at University of California, Santa Cruz.

Now, Ethan Edward Klein makes his living making YouTube videos with his wife, Hila.

The two are the comedy duo known as H3H3.
